In our village, we have the New Delight Inn, a traditional pub with log fires and hearty food just 20 minutes walk from Daisy Bank Camp. For shopping, we have 2 shops, one is the world famous May’s Shop in Colden, refuge of many a Pennine Way walker over the years, and we also have the Great Rock Co-op which was started by the villagers to create a retail outlet for small scale, local food and craft production and its still going strong. And just 10 minutes away, Hebden Bridge & Todmorden can cater for just about every taste, from Tibetan street food to vegan, with everything in between, and Leeds & Manchester are a short train journey away if all that peace makes you crave a little city life!

We would particularly recommend Todmorden & Hebden Bridge markets, where you’ll see a huge range of locally produced and delicious food – shopping is such a joy when you spend time talking with the person who actually produced your food. Ask us for recommendations of there’s something you particularly fancy.
